Final Score: Utah 27, TCU 20

Fort Worth, TX  - Darrell Mack rushed for 100 yards and a score, guiding the Utah Utes over Texas Christian, 27-20, at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Brian Johnson completed 13-of-20 passes for 120 yards with a touchdown and an interception for Utah (5-3, 2-2 Mountain West), which has won four in a row since Johnson returned to the lineup from a shoulder injury. Marquis Wilson had 73 yards and a touchdown on five receptions.

Andy Dalton threw four interceptions and ended with 164 yards through the air for the Horned Frogs (4-4, 1-4), who were coming off a 38-36 road win over Stanford.

Utah scored on its first possession, a clock-eating drive that ended with Mack’s one-yard TD run.

Louie Sakoda tacked on a 31-yard field goal in the final minute of the opening quarter for a 10-0 lead.

Stephen Hodge’s 31-yard punt return early in the second moved TCU within three, and the Horned Frogs assumed a 14-10 lead moments later on Marcus Brock’s one-yard touchdown run.

The lead was short-lived, as Johnson connected with Wilson for a 24-yard touchdown pass with 3:20 to play in the first half. Martai Burnett then gave Utah a 24-14 lead with a 55-yard interception return in the final minute.

TCU capped the first-half scoring courtesy of Chris Manfredeni’s 37-yard field goal as time expired.

Sakoda matched it with a 41-yard field goal midway through the fourth, though, and Utah’s defense limited the Frogs to just a field goal from there.
